Early Access Is Over: Palworld Hits 1.0

Palworld exited Early Access today, July 10, 2026, launching Version 1.0 across PC, Mac, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S — free for anyone who already owns the game, and available day-one on Xbox Game Pass. It’s the “Pokémon-with-guns-and-base-building” survival-crafting game that blew up at launch in 2024, and the 1.0 update is its biggest content drop yet.

Why It Matters for Dads

Palworld’s whole pitch has always been “what if a creature-collector game also let you build a base, automate chores with your Pals, and fight things” — and a 1.0 launch that’s free for existing owners plus a Game Pass day-one slot is about as low-friction as game night gets. If you’ve got a Game Pass subscription already, tonight is the night to see whether this lands with your kids the way Minecraft or Animal Crossing did, at zero extra cost.

Worth being straight about the audience, though: this isn’t a pure kids’ game. The combat, some Pal designs, and the general tone sit closer to a survival-crafting title for older kids and teens than a preschool pick — preview it yourself before handing over the controller to younger players.
