A 3,495-piece dojo for NINJAGO’s next chapter
LEGO has revealed NINJAGO Ivo’s Ninja Dojo (71888), a 3,495-piece set that arrives on LEGO.com on 1 January 2027 for $279.99. Brickset published LEGO’s press release: the set is rated 14+ and ties in with the upcoming NINJAGO Legends Embers + Ashes series. We do not own many NINJAGO sets yet, but this is one of the most beautiful we have seen in the theme.
Why it matters for dads
NINJAGO sets are usually built for play: dragons, mechs and vehicles that a child swooshes around the living room. Ivo’s Ninja Dojo is a different kind of set. At 3,495 pieces and 14+, it is the one a teenager builds over several evenings, or a parent builds together with a younger fan, and then puts on a shelf.
There is still plenty to play with once it is built. According to LEGO, the levels of the dojo can be lifted off to reveal hidden references and elemental lanterns inside, there are falling parts and fighting mechanisms, and a hoverbike comes with it. The twelve minifigures cover the new ninja team, Jin, Mira, Nate and Tre, along with Master Ivo, Master Zane, Gigi, Duncan, the Oni Imperator, an Oni Warrior, Madge and Roland, plus a rack of swords, nunchucks, sai, a claw and spears.
$279.99 is a lot of money for a NINJAGO set, so it is worth knowing where to start if your child is only just getting into the theme. What’s next
The dojo goes on sale on 1 January 2027. It is not listed on Amazon yet, and we will add the link once it is.
The Dadnology Take
Ivo’s Ninja Dojo looks fantastic, and it is one of the best-looking NINJAGO sets so far. It is expensive, and it is clearly aimed at older fans, but for a teenager who grew up with NINJAGO it could be the set that stays on the shelf for years.
